I've been drawing since before I could explain why. When I was little, I asked my mom how much artists make. She was worried. I was not.

That instinct never went away.

From elementary school art shows to college Addys, my work kept getting noticed. In high school, I fell in love with IB film. My class projects kept winning class votes. Then VCU, where my professor submitted me as a feature in in Graphic Design USA Magazine. He still uses my portfolio work as a reference point for students today.

When I stepped into the professional advertising world, my story just made sense.

For the past 7 years I've been at Fable, an indie creative agency, where I've applied and also built brand systems, concepted TV campaigns, and learned what it actually means to treat a client's business like it's your own baby no matter what it takes.

That last part is not a cliché for me. I got roasted at a holiday party for "having an affair with Adobe Illustrator". I consider that a compliment.

For a lot of creatives, what keeps them up at night is whether the work looks good enough. For me, it's whether the person consuming the work is seeing the best and is FEELING the thing.

If you there's one thing you take away from reading this, just know... I drink lemon juice by the glass  I like to justify it by saying it makes me unique but in reality, it gives me acid reflux that I like to ignore. Make of that what you will.
